In response to the article in last week’s paper, the City of Steelville feels your pain. No one wants to live next door to or even drive by some of these old homes in Steelville, and the building department has new personnel who are working diligently to correct these problem homes in the city, but it is not something that can be done quickly nor easily. There are many steps and legal issues that must be met and the city is working on them.
