Tarji Johnston

Tarji Johnston of Rolla, Missouri was born on May 5, 1954 in Big Springs, Texas to Truman and Carol Simpson (Goodson) Tate and passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 26 days.

She was united in marriage to Stanley C. Johnston on May 28, 1982 in Galesburg, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol (Goodson) Simpson.

She is survived by her husband of the home, Stanley Johnston of Rolla, Missouri; two sons, Steven Simpson of Texas and Jacob Johnston of Rolla, Missouri; one daughter, Kelsey Johnston of Rolla, Missouri; one granddaughter, Alexia; father, Truman Tate of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, Russell Tate of Austin, Texas; one sister, Rhonda Durkop and husband George of Brownwood, Texas; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral Mass was conducted on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rolla, Missouri with Father Michael Murphy officiating.

Pallbearers were Steve Simpson, Jacob Johnston, Nick Durkop, Benji Durkop, George Durkop and John Dills.

Arrangements under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
