Temple in Training will be hosting its Second Annual Meramec Paddle and/or Plunge on New Year’s Day on the Meramec River in Steelville. The 16-mile paddle will begin at Scott’s Ford at 8 a.m. and go to Bird’s Nest. The plunge will be held at approximately 2 p.m. at the end of the float.

Participants are welcome to come to the paddle, the plunge, or both. This event is to raise money for the local food pantry. Organizers are asking for monetary donations or non-perishable food items.

Costumes are also encouraged, but please keep in mind this is a family event. There will be attendance prizes, a bonfire, hot chocolate, chili and emergency blankets at the end of the float.    For complete details, to register, or if you have any questions please contact Donielle at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
