St. James School District is participating in a special program with Phelps/Maries County Health Department to offer free Tdap vaccinations at the Middle School during registration for 8th graders on August 5, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Effective beginning with the 2010-11 school year, the Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis) vaccine will be required for all incoming 8th grade students. Tdap is required if the child has not received a TD booster within the past two years. A parent must accompany the child to sign consent at the shot clinic the day of registration. If you have additional questions about the clinic, call your child's school nurse or the Phelps/Maries County Health Dept. at 573-458-6010 or 1-800-301-4942.
