The 48th Annual Harvest Festival Parade in Steelville has been set for Saturday, September 11 at 1:30 p.m. The parade theme this year is Celebrating Steelville—175 Years.

Suspect bound over for murder trial

Gaynor A preliminary hearing in the case against James M. Gaynor, 50, accused of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon for an incident on July 10, was held on Tuesday. The case has been bound over to the circuit court for trial.

Saddle-up (or not) and ride! The Ozark Trail Blazers will hold their 45th Annual Rodeo in conjunction with the Steelville Harvest Festival on September 10 and 11 at the arena located four miles south of Steelville on Highway 19.

State audit cites four concerns for county

Gasconade County’s recently completed state audit shows concerns with four issues, primarily procedural or accounting issues, across four separate departments.

Several of the auditor’s concerns have already been addressed, or corrected, according to responses from officials whose departments were audited. Those responses are included in the full audit report available on-line at auditor.mo.gov.
