Council approves street closures for Lions car show Print E-mail

Planning for the 2012 Lions Club car show in the historic business district took a step in the right direction on Tuesday with the city council’s approval of street closures in the uptown area. The streets will be closed temporarily to vehicle traffic on the day of the show and will reopen that evening to accommodate restaurants and their patrons.

Bob Temm has received the year’s top honor among firefighters at the Cuba Volunteer Fire Department. He was chosen by his peers as the 2011 fireman of the year and recognized for his achievement at the department’s annual awards banquet held on Saturday, January 7.

Cuba School Board reviews its goals Print E-mail

A good many of the board of education’s goals set for 2011-2012 have already been or are in the process of being met in the Cuba school district. It’s a good start to what Superintendent Johnny Thompson hopes will be a continued path of progress for Cuba’s public school system.
