Factory expansion made possible through state tax credits

Governor Jay Nixon made a planned stop in Cuba on Thursday, Aug. 26 to tour the Meramec Electrical Products plant and speak to the staff about the quality of their ongoing work in the transformer manufacturing field. The keynote of his fifteen-minute speech was the announcement of $197,355 in Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) tax credits that will allow the company to further expand its Cuba production facilities later this year.

Rolla man charged with stabbing brother Print E-mail

An argument between brothers led to a stabbing in Cuba on August 21. Shelby D. Zahn, 35, of Rolla, has been charged with class B felony assault in the first degree and unclassified felony armed criminal action as a result of the incident.

Midwest Petroleum’s Travel Plaza at the I-44 overpass increased Cuba’s public art collection with its recent commission of Classic Road Show, a fifty-foot by eight-foot mural by artist Ray Harvey. The vibrant mural features classic cars of Route 66 and spans the interior atrium between the truck port’s restaurant and convenience store.
