TigerShark Water Park will be opening for the season next week. After having a very successful first year, pool staff members are hoping to start year two off well. Beginning May 24 and 25, passes for the summer will be available, along with sign-ups for swimming lessons and classes.

Workers are making preparations for moving city hall |

 St. James Municipal Utilities workers dig a hole for a utility tower, which will be moved from the current city hall to the new city office building at 100 South Jefferson. City of St. James offices will soon be moving into their new location at 100 South Jefferson. This week, utility workers and contractors have been on site, installing monitoring equipment for the substations and doing minor interior work in anticipation of the move.

Tacony Manufacturing has been honored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as Manufacturer of the Week. Each week, a manufacturer is recognized through the “Make it in America” campaign and Tacony was selected for its efforts in being a driving force in American-made, quality products.

 During the April St.?James School Board meeting, Lady Tigers head basketball coach Brad Conway (left) was recognized by Athletic Director Phil West and the board for getting his 400th career victory this past season. At tonight’s meeting of the board, members will reportedly discuss whether to fire him. • Lady Tigers basketball coach faces possible firing at this week’s school board meeting St. James sports fans would probably like to put their collective ears on the door of a closed session planned for tonight’s (May 17) St. James School Board meeting. The board will reportedly be considering the firing of head girls basketball coach Brad Conway, who has been coaching the Lady Tigers for the past 14 years.
