Thirteen years of school will come to a close this week for Cuba High School seniors. The Class of 2012 has had a busy month, filled with activities such as the girl’s tea at the Wallace House, boy’s BBQ at Hood Park, and MVP breakfast at the First Baptist Church. Seniors finished up their last day of school on May 16, and only two more activities are planned for the class. Baccalaureate, a yearly tradition for Cuba graduates, will be held at Anointed Faith Tabernacle at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 20. The tabernacle is located at 605 East Washington Street. Perhaps the greatest activity of them all, graduation, will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, in Mike Voigt Gymnasium at Cuba High School. High school English teacher Sue Ryle will be the featured guest speaker for the ceremony. Being promoted from Cuba Middle School this year is the future CHS Class of 2016. Eighth grade promotion will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22. School will officially end May 23, and summer school will commence on Tuesday, May 29.
