The Missouri Department of Economic Development joined company leaders of Meramec Electrical Products Co., at a grand opening ceremony to celebrate the completion of the company’s expanded facility located at 1 Industrial Drive in Cuba, Mo. The expansion project includes the creation of 84 new jobs and a $10.6 million capital investment.
Steelville was designated a Purple Heart City at the October 6 city council meeting. Mayor Terry Palmer read a proclamation, members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Department of Missouri presented a plaque to the city and three local recipients of this combat decoration were recognized for their service.
