Candidates seeking office in the citywide election next April may begin filing their official election paperwork for it this month. Candidacy filing begins on Tuesday, December 17 and ends on Tuesday, January 21. There are seats becoming open next spring on city councils, school boards, and ambulance districts.
Filing will begin this month for those interested in serving on local boards in the Steelville community or as officials within the city of Steelville. General Municipal Election Day will be on Tuesday, April 8, and voters will go to the polls to fill a number of positions on these governing bodies.
