Capital improvement tax helping city get things done

Things are looking up for Cuba when it comes to city finances. No longer is the city operating under extremely tight budget constraints. Thanks to voter passage of a half-cent sales tax earmarked for capital improvement projects three years ago, Cuba has been able to rebound financially while also reducing its indebtedness. Now, the city looks to complete some projects the mayor describes as the stuff “people will actually see.”
