Boosters planning fun Halloween night

It’ll soon be Halloween and in Bourbon that means it’s time for the 5th Annual Bourbon Halloween Family Fun Night. On Friday, Oct. 25, starting at 5 p.m., the streets of downtown Bourbon will once again be closed off until 6:30 p.m. to allow for safe trick or treating.

For safety, please don’t start trick or treating until area is blocked off at 5 p.m. Starting at Cedar and Pine streets and going to Elm and Pine, the street will be closed off along Pine Street. Then on Elm Street to in front of the Community Center, the street will be blocked off.
During trick or treating, the First Baptist Church of Leasburg will be selling hot dogs and soda with proceeds going to their relay for life fund. Any business or organization wishing to set up a table free of charge in the blocked-off area is welcome, and they need to be set up by 4:45 p.m. and ready for trick or treaters. You can also play a game if you wish.
After trick or treating ends at 6:30 p.m., there is a dance at the Community Center with fun music for everyone with Halloween tunes throughout the evening.
The costume contest for all age groups starts at 7:30 p.m. with $25 for first place, $15 for second place and $10 for third place. Age groups are: 0-5 years, 6-11, 12-adult and family/group. If kids participate in the age groups, then they can participate in the family/group as well.
Please remember this is a family night when choosing your costume, anyone wearing costumes that are deemed inappropriate will be asked to leave or change by the Boosters.
