Pumpkin Village returns Saturday

October 26, with all sorts of Halloween fun available for the community. Events for the night will begin at 5 p.m. with a pumpkin carving contest at the basketball court.

The village itself will open at 6 p.m. and will include wagon rides, apple bobbing, games, and treats. A costume contest will be held at 7 p.m. at the City Village Booth on the trail. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third places in the following categories: ages birth to five, six to ten, 11 to 16, and overall originality (all ages).
A haunted house will be set up on the stage, and the Steelville Arts Council will also have a special events tent in the park. Various businesses and organizations will set up booths along the Greenway Trail from the footbridge over the Whittenburg Creek to Industrial Drive.
Those who attend are asked to enter through the park and are encouraged to begin their tour with a wagon ride that will leave from the tennis court area.
