MVH hosting BBQ Bivouac

    The Missouri Veterans Home in St. James will be hosting the BBQ Bivouac this weekend. On November 8-9, a competition will be held at the facility with entrants from across the country. Live entertainment will be provided throughout the event, which is expected to be a huge draw to the St. James community.

    In conjunction with the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the Missouri Veterans Home Assistance League is prepared for large numbers of competitors, who will seek top honors and during the Veterans Day weekend. Nashville recording artist Chris Bandi will provide live entertainment and local crafters and businesses will have booths selling items from their shops. Vendor space is still available. Booths include a 12x12 foot space for $50.
    A drawing for a reverse flow, trailer mounted smoker will be held during the weekend. Tickets are on sale for $20 for one or $100 for six. All funds raised throughout the event will go to support veterans living at the Veterans Home.
    Sponsors are still being accepted and those wanting to donate products, services, or gift certificates are welcome to participate.
