Area basketball fans will have an opportunity to watch five great games at St. James High School on Saturday, November 30. Action is slated to get under way at 11 a.m.
The Third Annual Community Bank of St. James Girls Varsity Basketball Shootout will feature 10 teams, including three from the immediate area. The Cuba, Owensville and St. James varsity girls’ teams are all participating.
The first game of the day will feature the Cuba Lady Wildcats vs. Battle High School, from Columbia, at 11 a.m. Jefferson City will take on North County at 12:30 p.m., Lutheran South will face Owensville at 2 p.m. and Pacific will play Park Hills at 3:30 p.m. The Shootout will conclude with the hometown Lady Tigers from St. James playing Ursuline Academy, of St. Louis.
Home teams (in white uniforms) will be Cuba, Jefferson City, Lutheran South, Pacific and St. James. All players, coaches and managers will receive a free Shootout T-shirt provided by Community Bank of St. James. Pizza and refreshments will also be available for each team after their game.
Admission to the Shootout is $3 for adults and $2 for students for the day. Those planning to attend should use the north entrance to gym. The east entrance is currently closed due to construction.
