Daniel Davis won his match against Waynesville in the Tigers season opener in wrestling and is now just one win away from reaching 100 wins in his career. Davis had a successful night but the Tigers had a rough first night on the mats on November 25.
The first team match of the night went to the School of the Osage 58-12. Individual results for the matches were (Tigers listed first): Sean Hunter lost by decision to Skyler Bax; Sam Bunyard lost by pin in 2:53 to Chris Johnson; Danny McCarthy won by decision over Zachary Curran; Davis lost to Trevor Koncevic by pin; Seth Thompson lost by pin to Bradley Russell; Taylor Busche won by decision over Michael Henley; Beau Campbell lost by pin to Nathan Nall; Logan Bullock lost by pin to Aidan Williams; Logan Disser lost by pin to Alex Weatherspoon in 18 seconds.
Then the Tigers fell to Waynesville 62-10. Individual results were: Matthew Latham lost to Anthony Johnson by pin in 1:12; Hunter lost by decision in two rounds to Julian Burnham; McCarthy lost by decision in a close match 9-8; Daniel Davis won his match against Elijah Blashford; Thompson lost by pin to Derrick Sax in 5:02; Busche won by pin over Colby Carmack in 45 seconds; Campbell lost to Jason Duncan by decision; Bullock lost by pin to Brandon Fancher; and Disser lost by pin to Griffin Ketcham
The Tigers will be back in action December 5 when they host North County at 5 p.m.. They will also wrestle in St. Clair at 5 p.m. Monday.
