Vigil planned to remember young murder victim

A candlelight vigil is schedule for Friday, February 28 for Hailey Owens.
From 6 to 7 p.m., the vigil will be a chance for citizens of St. James to support the family of the young girl from Springfield, Mo., who was recently kidnapped and murdered.

Held at the Nelson Hart Community Park, sky lanterns will be available to participants free of charge. A pavilion will be selling hot chocolate and taking donations for Owens’ family. Participants can bring their own candles, if they prefer.
Amy Crews and Crystal Walter are coordinating the event and a Facebook page, “Shining Our Lights For Hailey Owens and Her Family,” has been created and will keep the community informed as to the evening’s proceedings.
