Large group out for Middle School track

The St. James Middle School track team has started training after school and even some early mornings. The team’s first meet is April 4 in Owensville.

For many of the students, this is their first year doing track and field events. Training has just started and the team is, “still waiting for the volleyball girls to join us after their season is finished,” Coach Vince Perona said.
On the team this year are: eighth-grade boys—Jonathan Bowley, Devon Brown, Ian Campbell, Seth Courtois, Nick Craft, Mikey Crocker, Tyler Dover, Jesse Embrey, Logan Holt, Zach Koons, Chessley Plank, Keyshawn Smith, and Nick Wilson; eighth-grade girls, Kasey Birkner, Trinity Coleman, Destiny Donnelly, Payton Engelbrecht, Kennedy Fane, Juliet Mattingly, Quinn Paulus, Halee Story, and Julie Weinbaum; seventh-grade boys—Matthew Altis, Tyler Bass, Ethan Barnett, Isaac Bradshaw, Daniel Brown, Grant Conway, Colton Gibson, Christian Harrell, Garrett Rankin, Curtis Schultz, Devon Webster, and Joey Williams; seventh-grade girls, Maia Bond, Katlyn Branstetter, Courtney Cale, Mikaela Donnelly, Raina Forstrom, Bailey Glidden, Jess Harrop, Scout Paulus, Marti McCracken, Alyssa Rinehart, Taryn Sanders, Susannah Schisler, and Hannah Shasserre.
It is an excellent turnout for this year’s team, with about 10 more students participating than in past years.
