CHS drill team instructor Karisa Leathers called the Fall 2013 drill season “totally amazing.” It was another successful year for the Wildcat girls as they strutted their stuff in marching competitions and during halftime of the home football games.
“My girls really worked hard and pulled together a terrific season,” Leathers said. “We performed at the home football games, local festivals, and we marched in seven different parades, four of which were competitions, including both at Mizzou and the Missouri State University homecomings. We won two out of those four. I couldn’t have been more proud of them.”
This year’s roster included: seniors Alexa Rogers (captain), Katie Bolden (captain), Baily Kopplemann, Katlyn Rutz, juniors Shelby Whitaker (captain), Jessi Ettinger, Samantha Hafley, sophomores Hannah McKellips, Katelynn Priest, Abby Horsefield, Heather Gahr, Beth Snodgrass, Jonnie Werley, Emily Eaton, and freshman Hannah Weaver.
Leathers said the drill team would be working hard all summer long in order to perform even better next fall. They hope to go undefeated in competitions next season.
