The Steelville Arts Council will welcome the 2014 Steelville Clay Festival to Gallery Zeke next month. An exhibition centered around the ceramic arts will be on view Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month of May.
Every Saturday in May, live demonstrations will be held by local and regional ceramic artists. Each Saturday will be a unique event featuring multiple ceramic artists demonstrating simultaneously throughout the day.
The audience will have the opportunity to view the artistic process and ask questions of the presenters. The demonstrations will run from noon until 4 p.m. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be a reception showcasing each of the presenters’ work.
On Saturday, May 3, Jamie Zane Smith, Julie Brand, and Robert and Willie Bowness will kick off the Clay Festival with a panel demonstration beginning at noon. The event is free and open to the public. There will be a reception with light refreshments beginning at 4 p.m. Gallery Zeke is located at 106 Main Street in downtown Steelville.
