Public House Brewing Company will present “An Evening With Buddy Mondlock” on Wednesday, June 11. To be held at the St. James Winery Cottage on County Road 1000, the event will provide a special concert by Mondlock beginning at 7 p.m.
Celebrating a new solo recording, Mondlock will perform his hits, some old and some new, throughout the concert. His new CD, “The Memory Wall,” was funded entirely by fans, friends, and family through a Kickstarter Campaign. His sixth release, the album features fiddle, mandolin, and acoustic guitar adding to his folk music vocals.
Mondlock grew up in Park Forest, Ill., before he started writing music. He began recording his first album in 1987. He has performed with music greats like Garth Brooks and has traveled across America performing his critically acclaimed folk music. Along with songwriting, Mondlock also has been active teaching musical techniques and courses.
Mondlock’s songs have also been popular with other musicians, ending up on albums by different artists. Nanci Griffith recorded “Coming Down in the Rain” on her Grammy Award winning collection “Other Voices, Other Rooms.” Garth Brooks performed “Every Now and Then” on his album, “The Chase.”
Along with being a great musician, Mondlock has learned his craft from some of the best musicians across the globe and will bring that musical diversity to his performance Wednesday night. Tickets are available now at Public House Brewing Company and are $15 in advance and $20 day of the show.
