Basketball camp scheduled

    Steelville High School will be hosting a two-day basketball camp for local boys entering grades 3-12. The event is set for August 4-5 and will feature a special guest from Joplin, Mo.

    Isaac Edwards, founder and executive director of Rain Makers Christian Sports Ministry will be featured at the camp. Rain Makers runs competitive traveling teams and basketball camps in Southwest Missouri, Northwest Arkansas, North Caroline and Dallas.
    Edwards has been coaching basketball for 13 years and has helped 38 boys and girls move on to play college basketball. He played college basketball at Montreat College in North Caroline, where he graduated in 2000.
    The camp will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. for boys in grades 3-6 and from 5 to 8 p.m. for boys in grades 7-12. The cost is $10 per person and checks can be made out to SHS Head Boys’ Basketball Coach John Tolly. Those planning to attend are encourage to call the high school office to sign up at (573) 775-2144.
