A community tailgate party and ribbon-cutting ceremony are scheduled for this Friday, August 29, to mark the official opening of the new track and football field. The St. James Tiger Football team will be hosting their first home game of the season against Houston and board of education members will serve hamburgers, hotdogs, and refreshments to the public at no charge.
Tailgating begins at 5 p.m. on the street outside of the football complex. Tables will be setup along the street for guests to eat at. This will be the first home varsity football game at the newly remodeled sports complex.
The board would like to invite the public to the ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate the newly finished facility. The ribbon cutting will begin at 6 p.m. in front of the entrance to the field area. Both the tailgate and ribbon cutting are free to the public and all are encouraged to eat and view the new complex.
