MoDOT promotes sales tax to city councilmen

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) wants your vote on August 5, and they’re working hard to get it. Area MoDOT engineer Preston Kramer attended a Cuba City Council meeting last month as part of the statewide departmental effort to drum up voter support for the three-quarter cent sales tax proposal that will appear on the ballot.

Officers lodge internal complaints against police chief

Crow could face impeachment by council at meeting on August 5

Members of the Police Committee are split on whether or not to pursue impeachment proceedings against Police Chief Paul Crow, following allegations of impropriety lodged against him by officers within the department. The matter remained unresolved after the Police Committee met briefly on Monday morning, and the full council plans to take it up at next Tuesday’s regular council meeting at city hall.

Crawford Commons opening housing complex for the disabled

Pathways Community Health is opening a new, low-income housing complex in Cuba. Pathways is still reviewing applications and hopes to start moving residents into the 14-unit Crawford Commons housing complex in early August.

A missing 4-year-old Cuba girl has been found safe in Virginia and her grandmother has been arrested on an unrelated warrant.
