Bright bags a white whitetail on opening day

It isn’t every day that you see an all-white deer in the wild. Hunters can go lifetimes without ever seeing one, much less bagging a white buck on opening day of deer season. But T.J. Bright of Cuba did just that: He saw it and he killed it with one shot. His trophy kill will be one he can tell his own kids about.

CMS eighth grade wins Cuba Tournament

The CMS eighth grade girls took first place in last week’s basketball tournament held in Cuba, easily knocking off their competition. The Lady Wildcats won all three of their games, including one victory over the seventh grade Lady Cats.

Eighth grade girls win Bland Tournament

The CMS eighth grade Lady Cats took first place in the 2014 Bland Tournament, held in October, by winning all three of their games. Cuba knocked off Fatima 24-15, beat Vienna 42-16, and defeated Linn 33-10, as the Lady Cats captured the first place trophy.

Seventh grade girls win their final three regular season games

After suffering a close home lost to St. Clair on October 28, the seventh grade Lady Wildcats won their last three games of the regular season.

Eighth grade girls having a great year

The CMS eighth grade girls basketball season closes out this week as the Lady Wildcats take part in hosting their final tournament of the year. It has been a very good year for the Lady Cats, as they have fielded a strong team and several future stars at the high school level have already begun to shine in junior high.
