Chics and Chocolate will return to downtown businesses on Thursday, September 25. The “Girls Night Out” event will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Sponsored by the St. James Chamber of Commerce Area Merchants Committee, the event will provide participating ladies samplings of local businesses and prizes throughout the evening.
Two young Christian groups will perform in Steelville next week as part of the “While We’re Young” tour. 1 Girl Nation and OBB co-headline the tour that will make a stop at the Meramec Music Theatre on Thursday, September 18 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Missouri Mines State Historic Site will host an open house on Saturday, Sept. 13. The event will include exhibits, presentations and free museum admission. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Marking 150 years since the Battle of Pilot Knob, re-enactors will gather on Sept. 27-28 for the re-creation of the 1864 running battle through the Arcadia valley. In addition to the events being held to commemorate the battle, a special ceremony will be held marking the recent name change of the historic site that preserves and interprets the battle.

The Riverat Challenge is taking place on Saturday, September 13 in Steelville, Missouri. The event is being parented by Eagle Flight Ministries, a non-profit organization, with all funds raised from the event going to the Steelville community with this year’s focus being to repair the Steelville track.
