Young girls in Steelville have a new pageant opportunity this year. A Miss Steelville Pageant will be held on Friday, December 12 at 8 p.m. at the Meramec Music Theatre.
John F. Hodge High School junior Sam Bunyard has been selected to the All-State Choir after competing at the district level in early November. Bunyard was chosen as a bass and will continue on to work with other all-state students in January. Tyler Sanders, also a junior, was selected as first alternate bass.

The Crawford County Foundation has launched an effort to raise money to help Steelville Middle School students complete the Crawford County Vietnam War Era Monument that will be placed on the courthouse lawn.
