Bourbon receives certificate of merit at Community Betterment conference
Randy and Cathy Bremer represented the City of Bourbon at the 51st annual Missouri Community Betterment Conference in Columbia on October 20. Although Bourbon did not place among the cash winners this year, the group received a very nice plaque as a Certificate of Merit.
The Bourbon Booster Club will be holding their annual Halloween Family Fun Night on Friday evening, October 31. The City Council has agreed to block Pine Street from Cedar to Elm from 5-6 p.m. for the little ones to be safe while gathering treats from the participating merchants and organizations.
Patel chosen for Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington, D.C.
Kishan Patel, a senior at Bourbon High School has been nominated to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington, DC on November 14-16, 2014.
A free kitchen herbs and natural remedies class will be held on Saturday, October 25 at Bountiful Living Retreat in Bourbon from 1-6:30 p.m.
Local airman killed in Japan during typhoon
A 27-year-old serviceman from Bourbon was killed, along with two other airmen, on October 5, when they were swept into the ocean during a typhoon near Okinawa, Japan. Staff Sergeant Joshua Schoenhoff was an instrument and flight control systems specialist with the 461st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron based at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia.
