Seniors get it done on Senior Night

The Cuba Wildcats were able to end a two-game losing streak last week by defeating Bourbon in the regular season finale. It was an emotion-filled Senior Night at Mike Voigt Gym on Friday, as the Wildcat boys finished the year with a 16-8 regular season record and a 7-2 mark at home. By knocking off the Warhawks 72-45, the Cats were able to secure a tie with Steelville for the 2014 conference championship.

Mitchell scores 18 in win over Vienna

DeRennaux recognized on Senior Night

Hannah Mitchell had the hot hand, scoring 18 points in the season home finale on Feb. 17. The Cuba Lady Wildcats had little trouble dispatching the Vienna Lady Eagles in their meeting, finishing on top 58-42.

Wildcats poised to win another GVC title

The Cuba boys notched a pair of wins over conference rivals last week and have set themselves up for another conference title in 2014, if they can win at least one of two GVC games this week. The Wildcats knocked off both Viburnum and Belle on the road, both of the wins in convincing fashion.

Lady Cats take fifth at Newburg

The Cuba Lady Wildcat varsity girls won two out of three games in the Newburg Tournament, which was held over the course of two weeks, due to winter weather conditions that caused some game cancellations. They placed fifth in the tournament.
