S&T students offer ideas to city leaders
Engineering students from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla presented plans for 10 projects throughout Steelville to city leaders on November 18. Members of the city council and chamber were given information about the projects, which were developed by students.
Community gathers for Thanksgiving service
The annual Community Thanksgiving Service was held in Steelville on November 19 at Straightway Baptist Church. The church, located on BB Highway, was filled to capacity with Christians from a variety of denominations, all gathered to worship together under one roof.
Young girls in Steelville have a new pageant opportunity this year. A Miss Steelville Pageant will be held on Friday, December 12 at 8 p.m. at the Meramec Music Theatre.

October 6 Meeting
• Charlie Ray, of Missouri Engineering, reported on additional costs of $1,800 for the clearing of the area for water and electric lines for Bear Cat Lodge. The council approved moving forward with the project, provided easements were procured first.
