School board transfers money for capital projects
The Cuba School Board has authorized a $690,000 fund transfer for capital project improvements at the R-2 School District. The fund transfer approved last week will reduce the district’s reserve cash by about seven percent but is touted by the superintendent of schools as a smart financial move, providing funds for this summer’s campus construction projects.
Git Fit Gym in Cuba is now participating in the SilverSneakers program. The SilverSneakers program is open to people who are 65 or older and are part of a group retiree or Medicare health plan.
Council stands firm on returning UTV to Cowtown
Despite having their questions about a loaner vehicle from Cowtown USA answered by the owner of the business, the city council declined to accept the terms of the agreement, which means the utility task vehicle (UTV) goes back to Cowtown and not to the Cuba Police Department. The council decision was not unanimous.
