Harlem Wizards coming to Bourbon

    Bourbon High School BETA Club and Student Council are proud to present the Harlem Wizards versus the Bourbon All-Stars.  The Wizards will be at Bourbon High School on Friday, October 17, 2014.  The doors open at 6 p.m. with game time at 7 p.m.  Advanced tickets are $10 and may be purchased from the Bourbon High School office or any Student Council or BETA member.  Tickets will be $12 at the door.  The Harlem Wizards were here a couple of years ago and it was a lot of fun.  Everyone is invited to come out and have a great evening.  Snacks, drinks, and souvenirs will be available.

Bourbon represented at Foundation meeting

    Bourbon Community Foundation President Mary Heywood and member, Alice Bremer, attended the September 23 meeting of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks held at the MRPC building in St. James.  Members of affiliate foundations from the area were present to discuss the roles of a foundation and how one can make their community grow and prosper.

Local school board members attend 2014 MSBA Conference

    Michelle Volkmann, Kelli Rapp, Mark Nilges, Darrel Bosse, Shannon Radford, and Scott Blue, school board members from the Crawford County R-I School District, along with Superintendent Patricia Thompson attended the 2014 Annual Conference sponsored by the Missouri School Boards’ Association in cooperation with the Missouri Association of School Administrators.

Grand opening being held

    A new location brings new products and services to a long-time business in the Bourbon area.  Bourbon Small Engine, located at 10729 North Service Road, Bourbon, in the former Gasoline Alley building, will be holding a grand opening this Saturday, October 11, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
