Ribbon cutting held at new location

    Bourbon Small Engine Repair took part in a ribbon cutting recently held by the Sullivan Chamber of Commerce after moving their business to 10729 N Service Road in Bourbon, Missouri.

Auction, lunch being held

    The First United Methodist Church of Bourbon is trying something new this year.
    Instead of the regular Christmas Bazaar and bake sale as their annual fund raiser, it was decided to have a silent auction and lunch with homemade soups and chili, hot dogs, chili dogs, drinks and desserts with carry outs available.

After historic baseball career with Cardinals, Jim Bottomley called Crawford County home

    Dee Caldwell sat next to her grandmother on a warm summer's day at Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis. The grandmother, a matronly lady from the Soulard District of the city, was tense as the game unfolded and the Cardinals chased the 1931 National League Pennant. Suddenly, the old woman rose to her feet and shouted, "Come on Sunny Jim, get a hit."

Bourbon receives certificate of merit at Community Betterment conference

    Randy and Cathy Bremer represented the City of Bourbon at the 51st annual Missouri Community Betterment Conference in Columbia on October 20.  Although Bourbon did not place among the cash winners this year, the group received a very nice plaque as a Certificate of Merit.
