Patel chosen for Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington, D.C.
Kishan Patel, a senior at Bourbon High School has been nominated to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington, DC on November 14-16, 2014.
A free kitchen herbs and natural remedies class will be held on Saturday, October 25 at Bountiful Living Retreat in Bourbon from 1-6:30 p.m.
Local airman killed in Japan during typhoon
A 27-year-old serviceman from Bourbon was killed, along with two other airmen, on October 5, when they were swept into the ocean during a typhoon near Okinawa, Japan. Staff Sergeant Joshua Schoenhoff was an instrument and flight control systems specialist with the 461st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron based at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia.
Harlem Wizards coming to Bourbon
Bourbon High School BETA Club and Student Council are proud to present the Harlem Wizards versus the Bourbon All-Stars. The Wizards will be at Bourbon High School on Friday, October 17, 2014. The doors open at 6 p.m. with game time at 7 p.m. Advanced tickets are $10 and may be purchased from the Bourbon High School office or any Student Council or BETA member. Tickets will be $12 at the door. The Harlem Wizards were here a couple of years ago and it was a lot of fun. Everyone is invited to come out and have a great evening. Snacks, drinks, and souvenirs will be available.
Bourbon represented at Foundation meeting
Bourbon Community Foundation President Mary Heywood and member, Alice Bremer, attended the September 23 meeting of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks held at the MRPC building in St. James. Members of affiliate foundations from the area were present to discuss the roles of a foundation and how one can make their community grow and prosper.
