One arrested after search for drugs

On May 13, 2014 Officers of the South Central Drug Task Force, Phelps County Sheriff's Department and Rolla Police Department concluded a short-term narcotics investigation in Rolla.  As a result of the investigation, officers obtained and executed a search warrant in the 10000 block of County Road 2020 in Rolla, Missouri.

    The use of food stamps in Phelps County increased during the recession, assisting families in stretching their food dollars, contributing to local spending and helping spark a national debate about the future of the federal nutrition program.

County may remove storage tanks

    During the week of May 1, Phelps County commissioners:
    • Heard the need to repair or removal of underground storage tanks at the Rolla Road Department facility. Commissioner Gary Hicks has been researching any available funding to assist in the project. He noted that he had contacted a local engineering firm with expertise in this area to obtain information needed to move forward.
