Missing WWII soldier accounted for after 75 years

A World War II soldier from Cherryville will finally come home to be laid to rest. Army Pfc. Dewey W. Harris, 23, was reported missing and declared dead after a 1944 battle in Germany, but his body was not identified until earlier this year. Nearly 75 years after his death, he was accounted for on April 16, 2019. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
