Freedom Fest is Thursday

Freedom Fest provides a great opportunity to celebrate the Fourth of July in Steelville. This annual Independence Day event is sponsored by the Steelville Area Chamber of Commerce at the community park.


Activities begin at 2 p.m. and include food and vendor booths, a car show, kids’ games, musical entertainment, and a fantastic fireworks show.
Admission fees are $5 per vehicle at the main gate and $1 per person at the foot bridge. Fees will be collected from 2 to 9:30 p.m.
The annual Car Cruise-In, presented by River Valley Rod and Custom, opens at 3 p.m. Contact David Medlock at 573-775-5324 for more details on that event.
Three musical groups will perform on the park stage, beginning at 4:30 p.m. with local musicians SpringWood Wild playing a variety of music. Trilogy, an acoustic classic rock group based in Rolla, will take the stage at 6:15 p.m. Headliner Hunter Hathcoat will perform at 8:15 p.m., following the Salute to America at 8 p.m.
Fireworks provided by Showtime Pyrotechnics, LLC will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Kids relay games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
