Mary Alice Stubblefield of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, April 20, 1934 Crawford County, Missouri to George and Lucille (nee Setzer) Edwards and passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 85 years.
Mary Alice married John P. Stubblefield on August 30, 1952. They were happily married for 57 years when John passed away in August of 2009.
Mary Alice spent her life taking care of her home and family, but she also worked in the cafeteria at school for several years. Mary Alice believed in always being busy.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba, Lunch Bunch and the O.E.S Chapter 398 (Eastern Star). She loved to visit with people and spent hours playing games with the residents at different nursing homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucille Edwards; husband, John; and brother-in-law, Chilton Workman.
She is survived by her children, Mary Lou and husband Don Uhle of Hockley, Texas, Tracy and husband Bill Arsenault of Carlsbad, California and J.C. Stubblefield of Manhattan Beach, California; six grandchildren, John M. and wife Meghan Uhle of Texas, Katie Uhle of Texas, Billy and wife Katie Arsenault, Ryan Arsenault, Zach Arsenault and Riley Arsenault all of California; two great grandchildren, Brynn Uhle and Ryder Arsenault; sister-in-law, Frieda Workman of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with a 7 p.m. Eastern Star service.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Jeff Snell officiating.
Interment and prayers followed at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
