Sondra Talburt of West Plains, Missouri was born May 2, 1952 at Pekin, Illinois to Amos John and Lavada Dixon Talburt and passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 26 days.
Sondra graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1970. In 1974, she received a Bachelor’s degree from School of the Ozarks where she loved to play softball and held records in track and javelin.
She began her teaching career in Houston, Missouri, teaching there for three years before moving to Steelville, Missouri, where she taught for 17 years. She then relocated to Doniphan, Missouri where she remained teaching until she retired. During her time at Doniphan she started the cross country team.
After her retirement, she began selling real estate in Doniphan and later in West Plains, Missouri. She was a member of Trinity Worship Center where she loved being active within the church, playing guitar and singing with the Praise Team and Women’s Group.
She was preceded in death by her father, Amos Talburt.
She is survived by her mother, Lavada Talburt of West Plains, Missouri; three brothers, Hal Talburt of West Plains, Missouri, Rad Talburt and wife, Joanne of Doniphan, Missouri and Wayne Talburt and wife Ramona of Tecumseh, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains, Missouri.
Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Trinity Worship Center in West Plains, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Trinity Worship Center.
Burial was in the Moody Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, Missouri.
