Mobil holding fundraiser for area animal shelters

The Cuba Mobil on the Run will hold its Second Annual Chili Cook Off on Friday, November 8, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., with proceeds benefiting the Tri-County Animal Shelter of St. James and Santana’s Hope 4 Paws in Steelville.

Chili will be sold in two sizes, small for $2 and large for $4. Along with chili sales, a fundraising supply drive will also be accepted. Monetary donations will be taken to help these two shelters receive supplies they need to care for animals, including cat and dog food, puppy pads, litter, and more.
The Tri-County Animal Shelter is a no-kill facility in St. James that cares for strays and facilitates adoption of these animals. It is run by a volunteer non-profit, 501c3 group. As with any non-profit, donations make up the primary way for the facility to operate and this drive will greatly help resupply the organization for the winter months, when the number of animals needing care can become demanding. The Tri-County Animal Shelter provides services such as rescuing, neutering, spaying, veterinary care, and placement for homeless, sick, and abused animals.
Santana’s Hope for Paws will also benefit from the fundraiser. It is also known as Friends of the Steelville Pound, also a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals. The group supports adopting, locating, and fostering animals from the area that require services from the facility. It also provide relocating services, attending veterinary needs, and provides a place for homeless, sick, or abused animals to receive care. The organization also aids citizens to promote health and safety of area animals and promotes the humane treatment of animals through community awareness.
Mobil on the Run hopes to have another big year in bringing necessary supplies and donations and will look to serve these facilities in their vision to help area animals.
