The Steelville Tourism Committee and the Steelville Police Department are sponsoring the Steelville Christmas Parade on Main Street on Saturday, December 14 at 5 p.m. All are invited to come and help celebrate this fun holiday event.
The parade theme is “The Magic of an Old-Fashioned Christmas.” You must register to enter the parade. Entry forms can be found on Facebook on the Steelville Tourism Committee page. Completed forms may be dropped off at the Steelville Police Department or turned in just prior to parade line-up. You can also call 636-358-1120 (Chrissie Sherman) or 573-775-5533 (Tamra Cape) to register.
This parade will take place in the evening, so the more lights, the merrier. Please do not dress as Santa Claus or have him on your float as Santa will ride at the end of the parade.
Side-by-sides and golf carts will be permitted as long as you have obtained permission from Police Chief Mike Sherman. ATVs will not be permitted.
Parade entries wishing to dispense any item during the parade must do so in a non-hazardous manner. No “overhand” or hard throwing of items will be allowed.
Line-up is at 4:30 p.m., and the parade will start at 5 p.m. sharp.
The Steelville Area Chamber of Commerce asks local businesses to decorate for the holidays in time for Small Business Saturday on November 30. The Chamber encourages using the same theme as the parade, “The Magic of an Old-Fashioned Christmas,” and will sponsor a contest. More details will be forthcoming.
