Robert “Wade” Asher

    Robert “Wade” Asher of Cherryville, Missouri was born on Thursday, September 13, 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert “Bob” Lee and Wanda Faye Dunlap Asher and passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the age of 57 years, 2 months and 3 days.

    Wade accepted the Lord when he was 16 years old.  He graduated from North County Technical School for small engine repair in St. Louis, Missouri in 1980 and graduated with a Pastoral Degree from Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1982.
    He married Marsha Deanne Delcour on May 5, 1990 at the Assembly of God Church in Steelville, Missouri.
    Wade had experience with many jobs including being a prison guard, salesman and delivery driver. He was an ordained minister and performed the wedding ceremony for his sister Yvonne and her husband Rick.
    Wade spent the last several years of his life with his fiancée Tamara “Tami” Sue Strutman. Together they attended Faith Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
    Wade loved kayaking, swimming, snorkeling or even just wading. He loved driving fast cars around curves, riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes. Wade was a conversationalist who was always telling stories, jokes and making people (and himself) laugh. He traveled to many beautiful places with his fiancée Tami. Most of all, he was crazy about his kids.
    He was preceded in death by grandparents, Bill and Hazel Asher and Herman and Frona Dunlap; mother, Wanda Asher; sister, Pamela Sue Asher; and brother-in-law, Jeff Mitchell.
    He is survived by his father, Robert “Bob” Asher of Cherryville, Missouri; children, Gabrielle (Anthony Rogers) Asher of St. Louis, Missouri and Taylor (Brenda) Asher of Jefferson City, Missouri; step son, Justin (Barb) Wright of Steelville, Missouri; grandchildren, Jack and Grayson Wright of Steelville, Missouri and on the way Baby Avery Asher; fiancée Tami Strutman of St. Peters, Missouri; Tami’s children, Max Strutman and Madison Strutman; sisters, Tammy (Jim) Smith of Hillsboro, Missouri and Yvonne (Rick) Leuthauser of St. James, Missouri; Tami’s siblings, Leann (Paul) Walters of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Terry (Shari) Stewart of Lehigh Acres, Florida; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
    Celebration of Life immediately followed with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.
    The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
