Although the COVID-19 health crisis has effected much of our day-to-day lives, it has not brought a halt to child abuse. Volunteers with Mid-Ozark CASA are working hard to ensure that abuse and neglect do not go unnoticed.
In an effort to continue their work of providing critical services to children removed from home due to abuse or neglect, Mid-Ozark CASA held its first ever virtual swearing in ceremony for 2 new volunteer advocates on April 10, 2020. The ceremony was presided over by 42nd Judicial Circuit Presiding Judge Megan Seay (the 42nd Judicial Circuit includes the counties of Crawford, Dent, Iron, Reynolds and Wayne). The new volunteers are Abby Horsefield, Cuba and Derin Richardson, Bourbon.
Mid Ozark CASA is seeking new volunteers. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a CASA volunteer and the rewards from servings as a voice of a child, please contact Mid-Ozark CASA at 573-677-2002.
