Due to COVID-19, the STARCO board of directors held a special meeting on Wednesday, May 27, and took emergency action to approve an amendment to the organization’s bylaws. This amendment postpones the organization’s annual meeting until May of 2021 and allows board members with expiring terms (Rosella Roberts, Jim Barnett III, and Annette Burdett) to serve an additional one-year term.
Many community organizations, such as the Steelville Arts Council, are experiencing the economic impact of the current crisis. Those who are in a position to help STARCO through these challenging times, are asked to please consider a charitable donation to ensure the next 10 years of its existence. Donations can be made online at or by contacting a STARCO Board Member.
STARCO President Scott Perkins had announced closure of the organization’s theater and galleries on Wednesday, March 18, along with cancellations and postponements of upcoming events in order to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), along with state and regional health departments.
