COVID-19 testing planned in St. James fully booked

Phelps Health will be offering free drive-through testing for COVID-19, including nasal swab and antibody testing, on Saturday, July 11, in St. James. The event is already completely booked with those wanting to get tested.

Both types of testing will be available to those who have registered from Phelps County and surrounding areas July 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Phelps Health Medical Group-St. James clinic located at 1000 North Jefferson Street.
Phelps Health is conducting this testing to provide a better understanding of the COVID-19 situation in the area. Individuals who pre-registered for this event will be tested without leaving their vehicles.
Phelps Health will test to see if people currently have COVID-19. This type of test involves a swab to take a sample from inside the nose. Additionally, SARS-CoV-2 serology antibody testing, which involves taking a blood sample from a person and identifies possible past infection with the COVID-19 virus, will be available for ages 12 and up.
Having symptoms of COVID-19 was not required for people interested in being tested. Individuals could choose to have one test or both tests performed.
People will not be charged for this testing, and Phelps Health will be responsible for notifying these individuals of their test results. Due to patient privacy concerns, no videos or photos will be allowed at this testing site. This includes media, patients, volunteers and staff.
