The Vichy Volunteer Fire Department will host its last dinner of 2020 – a fried chicken dinner on Sunday, Oct. 18.
The dinner will take place at the firehouse/community hall at 14812 Highway 63 in Vichy. Serving will begin at 11 a.m. and run until 5 p.m., or until food runs out. Adult dinners will be $10 each while children's dinners (12 and under) will be $5. Baked chicken will also be available.
Side dishes of mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade cole slaw, green beans, homemade desserts and bottled water are included with the dinners.
Due to social distancing requirements, this dinner will be carry-out only.
"We typically do not have a dinner in October. Because we had to cancel our April dinner, due to the state stay-at-home order, we decided to do a dinner in October to try to replace the lost revenue.," explained Bonnie Prigge, board president. "All of our dinners this year have been carry-out and our community has supported us. We are very appreciative and thankful for that support."
All profits from the event will go toward the upgrade of department equipment.
