Local business owners and members of the Steelville Tourism Committee (from left) Alicia Rehmert, Lanin Thomasma, and Marilyn Lakaner participated with other downtown businesses for a special “Deer Widows Weekend” shopping event where shoppers received a “Shopping Passport” for discounts and other deals if they donated a canned good or gave a monetary donation for the Blessing Box on Main Street.
Participating merchants included Lange General Store, Creekside Fudge & Gifts, In & Out, Fountain Emporium and Em’s Bakery, Gallery Zeke, Bargains for Missions, Double Shot Booze & Bullets, Heartland Arts and Art & Joe. They expressed thanks to all who participated and provided food for the hungry in our community.
