Improvements being made on Pine Street

The city of Bourbon has been busy for the past several months making improvements along Pine Street, installing new curb and gutter and replacing water lines, as part of a downtown revitalization being funded through a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant. Workers are currently replacing all the main sewer lines and many of the water lines along Pine Street before the entire street is repaved. Officials hope to get all that work completed before fall.

Bourbon school district has single race for one-year term

    Five people are running for four spots on the Bourbon School Board that will be decided during the June 2 election, which was originally scheduled for April before being rescheduled due to the ongoing pandemic. Voters will get to cast their ballots in two different races.

Bourbon planning virtual, actual summer schools

    Now that the 2019-20 school year has officially ended, the Bourbon School District is looking toward summer school plans and will be offering two plans for students—a virtual summer school for high school students, and an in-seat summer school for all grade levels.
