As part of a community service project, the Bourbon FFA sent soldier care packages to military members that are stationed overseas for the holidays again this year. This is the third year the Bourbon FFA has done this project and it continues to grow each year.

STUCO and FBLA hosted a canned food drive contest with the fifth hour classes. They set a goal of 1,000 pounds. The students and teachers went above the goal for a total of 1,238.2 pounds. First place went to Mrs. Garcia's class with 485.4 pounds, second place was the teachers with 278.8 pounds and third place was Mrs. Delmont/Mrs. Meade's class with 181.8 pounds. The winning class was rewarded with a pizza party.
Seventy one members of the Bourbon High School Beta Club traveled to Springfield, Missouri on December 6-7 to attend the 70th annual Missouri Beta Convention. The state convention was held at the Springfield Convention Center.
Matt Knight, Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital Respiratory Care Manager, recently gave a presentation regarding the dangers of vaping and cigarette use to an assembly at Bourbon High School.
The annual Bourbon Christmas tree lighting ceremony was held on December 6. The event featured band and choir performances, an appearance by Santa, and the annual "Christmas in Bourbon" poem by Alice Bremer.
