Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Human Powered Vehicle Challenge team recently earned first place at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers two 2020 Human Powered Vehicle Challenge Digital Competitions. The ASME E-Fest North and E-Fest South competitions, traditionally held in-person at different universities, were moved online due to safety precautions related to the current spread of COVID-19.
As electronic devices become more complex, the printed circuit boards (PCBs) they use need more components, including capacitors that prevent voltage fluctuations. Researchers say there is a gap between the theoretical understanding of the physics of designing and placing the capacitors and how to leverage that understanding to create the real product.
Two teams of students from Missouri University of Science and Technology will compete in the final rounds of the Regnier Venture Creation Challenge 2020, a University of Missouri-Kansas City business plan and pitch competition open to university students in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.
