The Steelville High School track teams competed at a large track meet in Waynesville on April 18. The Class 2 Cardinals faced some tough competition from Class 4 Camdenton, Liberty, Rolla and West Plains, and Class 5 Lebanon and Waynesville at the 11-team meet and won just one event.
The return to playing golf at Steelville High School turned out well for the Cardinals at the Gasconade Valley Conference tournament, which was played on April 11 at Viburnum. The Steelville squad finished second as a team and two Cardinals earned all-conference honors.
The Steelville High School Cardinals baseball team made it a clean sweep last week in dominating fashion, defeating Bourbon, Crocker, and Richland by a combined score of 49-3. The Cards are now 7-3 overall and 2-0 in Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) play.
The Steelville Middle School track teams brought home three first-place plaques last week. The boys and girls both won the Cuba Middle School Relays on April 10, while the boys took first and the girls second at Viburnum on April 8.
The Steelville High School track teams were busy last week with three meets in Union, Cuba, and Owensville. The girls won the Cuba meet, while the boys took second, and Garrett Tolly set a new boys record in the javelin at Union.
