    The Cuba Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the list of performers who will be taking part at its Music Festival that is scheduled for Saturday, August 28.

Governor approves salary increase for county sheriffs

    County sheriffs in the state of Missouri will see salary increases, but it may be 10 years before the full raise will be realized for some. Governor Mike Parsons signed the senate bill to approve the pay raise on July 14 in spite of the opposition voiced by several counties, including Crawford.

Nominations being accepted for Outstanding Achievement in Solid Waste Management

    The Ozark Rivers Solid Waste Management District (ORSWMD) was formed by Missouri state statute with the goal of reducing the amount of solid waste going to landfills by 40 percent. The district includes Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties.

Grow Native! Master Class: Stormwater Management Design August 4

The Missouri Prairie Foundation’s (MPF) Grow Native! program  is hosting a master class on Wednesday, August 4 at 4:00 p.m. with Ronda Burnett, Community Conservation Planner with the Missouri Department of Conservation. Titled “Stormwater Management Design” the master class will provide an advanced overview of the design considerations associated with stormwater management practices.

Missouri notifying individuals of possible waiver of recovery from federal unemployment overpayments

The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations has implementeda process for claimants to apply to the Division of Employment Security (DES) for potential waiver of the recovery of non-fraud federal pandemic program unemployment benefit overpayments.  Notices to eligible claimants began mailing out last week and are available in the “Correspondence” tab of UInteract, Missouri’s online unemployment benefits service.
