During that time, both have tried to tackle their new duties with enthusiasm.
The Crawford County Enhanced Enterprise Zone (CCEEZ) has approved a real estate tax abatement for a factory renovation and modernization project in Bourbon that will include a $250,000 capital investment and the creation of 20 local jobs.
In what was undoubtedly the best livestock auction in the history of the Crawford County Fair, buyers spent nearly $430,000 on Saturday and set record single sale prices for a steer, hog, and rabbits. The total sales nearly doubled those from a year ago.

Not having a fair due to the pandemic apparently left a lot of area residents with a bit of an empty feeling in 2020, but they more than made up for it last week. Big crowds enjoyed the 74th Annual Crawford County Fair, which was held at Hood Park in Cuba July 13-17, thanks in part to some of the best weather the event has had in decades.
